Kids Are Amazing

I went to an 8th grade boys basketball game tonight for Renner Middle School. It was phenomenal! Both teams had an undefeated season until tonight and we were down most of the game (which is out of sorts for our boys). It was one of those last second wins where the teams are going back and forth making baskets with less than a minute left. The people in the stands were going crazy! Each basket required half of the stands to get on their feet and cheer. It was just a fun game. These 8th grade boys are intense too - both teams were just amazing. They put their whole hearts into a game. They've had an undefeated season with their last game is on Wednesday. If you've never gone to a middle school / high school sports games for the whole season, try it sometime - be a cheerleader for kids, walk with them through their ups and downs, get a team roster and tell other people in the stands who the players are, be the loudest encouraging fan in those stands. It's the best time spent of my evenings hands down.
